Music-- Twitter-- YouTube-- My Words/Pictures-- Have a Question?

I get a TON of questions that all pretty much sound like this one.. the topic of motivation and working out gets brought up a lot and I wanted to go ahead and post this question with my response on my main blog for all you peeps :)The decision to get healthy comes at different times for all of us. Before I really got serious about my health, I had previously tried numerous times to get my ass in shape and to no avail. You’re all going to reach a point where you’ve had enough and that’s when you’ll get started. Self-motivation cannot be taught, it cannot be learned, it has to be discovered. You’ve got to really want it. These slip-ups you’re having are normal, and that’s because mentally you aren’t ready for a drastic change. People think that in order to see results you have to go on these crazy diets and get a personal trainer and what have you, but when it comes down to it, all you really need is drive and dedication to meet your goals. I’ve been doing this for almost 2 years now and it has been quite the journey. I went from knowing NOTHING about fitness at all to answering questions like this one. It’s a process, you’re about to learn so much about yourself and about health and you have to be ready for that! When I first started I just focused on eating healthier and getting my butt moving for 40 minutes a day, that was it. I would youtube different workouts and I would try my best to do them, although I couldn’t because I wasn’t in shape enough, but I did what I could and that’s all that matters. It isn’t about doing the workouts 100% perfectly, it’s about pushing yourself to your breaking point and doing however much you can.To be completely honest with you, I find my motivation everywhere. I’m constantly setting goals for myself and I get so happy when I reach them that I make new one’s right on the spot. If you aren’t challenging yourself, you aren’t changing yourself. What started as way to get my health in check has easily turned into a hobby of mine. I’ve loved being able to watch my body transform (keep in mind it’s taken me 2 years! and I still have a long way to go!) people have this idea in their mind that they’ll see change right away and that’s not the case. It takes months to even notice any changes at all, but you know what, thats AOK because you have the rest of your life to get to where ever it is you’re trying to go, and you’ll get there IF you keep pushing forward. :) I believe in you, so it’s about time you start believing in yourself. The power of a positive mindset is incredible. Don’t get down on yourself when you slip-up, just regain your focus and keep going. YOU GOT THIS. Now do it.
